Well, although this is relatively old news, Alienslof has left. One of the backbones of tis community, it is a hard blow to absluteavp forums and gamestory. I think that everyone should post in this forum and show some respect for what she has done for the avp community.

Well it is a shame to see her go, lets hope things can get back to a relatively normal state with out her here and I hope things won't fall apart. I'm really hoping she'll come back later but guess it's all up to her.

unfortunately, this site is slwly taking an express trip to bullshite mountain because of a few people not keeping their mouths shut or just not caring about anyone else at all.

the sites dying guys. and its too late to reverse the problem.

there are no new people, and the few that are there just arent doing anything. in a group of hundreds, there are about 15-20 people who actually participate, and theyre slowly being run off by all the BS being dumped here. i feel soon i will be one of them.

ah well. at least i know sloffies webbie is up and running, and it wont be buried in the sh*t (hopefully)

Hmmm, I was actually referring to Slof and myself. We are friends, we talk, we know how each other feels so don't for one second think it was pop at Sloff. Someone actually said 'the flamers should grow-up', to my mind I took it that it was me AND Slof that was being referred to.
My comment was also of a sarcastic nature to indicate that the direction the chat is taking "I promise this, I promise that" is so over the top it's actually unbelievable. It's also not necessary, but it was a nice gesture. Slof has quit, as for me, well, I tend to rise to bait sometimes, like the above.
I was talking to Daggle last night, another good friend of mine, and we came to the conclussion that it's a generation thing and that in this day and age youngsters do swear quite freely. Now, Sloffy is not quite as old as me but she still has instilled in her, as I do, a sense that swearing is wrong. Our parents drummed that into us. They also indicated that there where some words that were cuss words, swear words and obscenities.
I don't mind the odd spot of swearing and neither does Slof but when (in a chat) it becomes excessive then (as NS said) it starts to grate and interest in the people talking rapidly starts to wane.
In a story swearing can become meaningless when excessive and that can also be highly irritating and will stop people reading further. That's a detriment to the writer. It also lowers the readers estimation of the site that presents that material.
Shall I tell you why Fan Fiction dumped the NC-17 rating? Well, I will. Writers were putting up inappropriate stories, well, not too bad, except they were putting it up in the children's section where it was causing considerable harm to the site. To the harm of a lot of innocent writers of NC-17 stuff, my mate Slof amongst them, the site killed all NC-17 stuff. The actions of a few ruined it for the many. The innocent suffered along with the guilty.

Funny you know, both me and Sloff had a right go at you lot but it's me you want to hang and Slof you want to cuddle. Double standards rule. And the real tragedy is, all we aimed to do was make you better and more responsible youngsters. I even want to the trouble of explaining WHY the C-word was so bad in the hope that it would be understood, and to MarcusPred's credit he did.

I'll not rise to anymore bait 'cause I can see you're already gathering the wood for my gallows, but if you really think I'm nasty than maybe, just maybe you need to ask the people I've helped what they think. Like Sloffy, I've doled out advice, I've proof read other peeps stories, hell, I even started a 'Tippettes for authors' thread and spent time filling it with lots of useful info for wannabe writers.

The final point is, you should all just stay where you are. You enjoy the site don't you? You enjoy each others company don't you? MP has truckloads of support from his mates, which is a good thing. If he goes then that will smack of martyrdom and inflame the situation. Look, why don't you just get your mates in here and make it a great place for young and like minded people to gather? The young here outnumber us old crocs by quite a fair bit and it's us old crocs holding you back. Go for it.

I think an avp3 would help, but I don't really think its this site, the whole avp community is dying in general. There are less servers up than a month ago, and let's not forget the trauma that avpnews went through and haven't really recovered from.
But this is a much needed wakeup call to all of us... do we want to sit here and do nothing, or do we want to fight for this site?
