I realize that I am new to this site, so before the "Shut up newbie!" comments come unbidden to the lips of some, at least hear me out. I have been reading on this site for some time now, but only recently have I decided to join the community. I have found many hours of enjoyment in the fan fiction area, and some amusement by the rantings and ravings in the forums. But recently I have been shocked by what I see occuring, and from my perspective it seems a needless thing, and now many will reap the harvest from the seeds sown by a few. What was established as a community for people with the common interest of the Alien and Predator characters has become a hotbed of immature insults, actions and stunts for attention. And so much of it could be avoided with just a little thought and planning. Though I have bugged her more than I have any right to lately, AlienSlof has strived to help me any way she possibly can to get my own writing submitted for the enjoyment of the community. I would be willing to wager that, if approcahed respectfully and with sincerity, she would be willing to help any one of us with ideas, advice and just a kind word to keep out spirits up when the enjoyment of writing is at its lowest. And if she is willing to do this, don't you think she would be willing to keep you from offending a majority of the readers and making yourself and the entire community look like a group of idiots? But honestly I don't blame her for moving on to something else. It is hard to watch something you work so hard on and care so deeply about be dragged down and ruined, and being helpless to stop it. I hope she does not leave, but if she does, I wish her the very best in whatever her imagination leads her to. The members of this community will bear the loss, and it will be a test of spirit for those that remain to see where the community goes after. AlienSlof, I salute you for all your hard work and passion that you have poured into your fictions and this community, and I would like to say thank you for all you have done to help the many writers that have come here seeking to express something that is only an idea floating around in their head.

When these sites were being set up, the core group sought for a place where the moderators don't go round editing and 'beating up' others like it happens on some other forums (GaySpy & GameGossip ).

Yeah, Prez - you should read it - it's THAT story that's helped flare up this whole problem - full of inappropriate swearwords strewn about like confetti - including the C-WORD - which I notice IS STILL THERE!!! It reads like 2 little kids that have just learned a few bad words. I am ashamed to be even associated with such pap. Swearing where appropriate, I have no problem with, hell, I use it myself where I feel it helps express an extreme emotion, but this was just OTT.

hehe, anise. im a guy, but its always struck me as funny, the stuff youre saying (i dont like it - but i find it funny. im cynical by nature). sexim is very onesided. a girl who sleeps around is a slut (is that word permissable on here, or is it like F or C? just tell me, ill edit) and is scorned by all. a guy who does it is a Stallion or a Stud, and is respected and worshipped by all. funny, aint it? not very nice, i admit, but funny. but i was ever the cynic.

About the shut up newbie I don't see much change of that happening since as far as I can tell we've welcomed almost all the new users with open arm and I hope your no exception.

Anyway I also hope we can get over this problem we're having. One way would be to get more strick moderators but then agian that would remove some of the sites charm, and free will. Guess we should make it clear that self control must be used, and I'm sure this is a good way of doing it.

I can't believe what I'm seeing. It's been a while since I've been able to spend much time here with work and other B/S dominating my time as of late. It should be an exciting time; AGN's expansion into the console gamerz realm with AbsoluteSOCOM and the just announced AvP:Extinction for the PS2 and X-Box (which we will be providing converage of as new details emerge ), IGI2 is out... BUT! I've just learned the Queen of our little nest is packing her egg sack and leaving . I remember AlienSlof when she was just a cute little facehugger joining us at the old avp2.net and GameStory... In the time that's past she's become one of the family here and it saddens me greatly to see her leave. Please AlienSlof, say it ain't so...

Well not sure what to say. I'm sad to see her go she did do a lot for the site and I guess things are going to be diffrent with out her here. I'm sure all of us will miss her perhaps she might even come back but I doubt it.

I hate dominos I don't know why always hated them so I guess I'm not that big of a fan when it comes to a domino reaction.

its not really a domino. everyone is starting to leave, cos everyone is starting to get sick of the bs being pumped into a previously clean site.

im 15, and i consider the newer stuff to be getting immature. i enjoy and am immaure, and even i find it irritating and pathetic. its just to much, and enough is enough.
