I feel horrible. My 3yr old female chameleon died yesterday 
. She was in pain, so I guess I don't feel as bad now that she doesnt have to suffer anymore, but I still feel pretty terrible

I thought chameleons lived longer than that? Sorry if that is intrusive Rene, but i was just curious.

sorry to hear that. hope all goes well.
I can sympathize for my dog was in a lot of pain and my mom had to have him put down in 98. but i now have a 7 year puppy and he has gone thru surgey twice. but all is cool now.
plus my grandpa passed on after a battle of cancer ...
darn... I am sorry for being so depressing... the best thing to know is like what Kaz said...
the one thing to think about is that now the spirits can roam and look over the one that cared for them adn that they can be at peace, no more pain (except the pain of the leaving us behind)... time will let us heal.

Females can live up to 3-4yrs, males can live up to 6-7 yrs.

No offence taken. As I stated I'm not devastated by her going, relieved more than anything since shes out of her misery. My poor baby could hardly walk - let alone stand, wouldnt eat or drink, her eyes were sunken in, and she was egg-bound to make matters worse
. So I'm OK with it all...it was just a really shiity way to start the week.

yes. but chameleons are much easier to clean up for and take care of. farrots are rather messy animals. but yeah they are pretty cool.
