you know, the main reason folks leave this site, is 'cause other folks leave this site. So, whenever possible, if you're just leaving for a short time (to see if it gets any better or whatever), don't post it. If you don't make a big production, nobody will think you might be gone for good, and will probably dissmiss it as a simple power outage or some such complication. I mean, the two (or was it three?) times i've left, did anybody else care? or even notice?
So, my advice is, unless you're going to be gone for a long while (as such with Kath'ay) don't tell anyone.
